Abstract

This study aims to describe the muscles of the shoulder, arm and forearm of the Paca (Cuniculus paca, Linnaeus 1766), by gross anatomy review of this area by dissection, for determining the surgical access the bone in these regions. Shall be used five adult Cuniculus paca (males and females) weighing between five and 10kg from the Pacas squad of Wild Animals Department from FCAV, UNESP, Jaboticabal-SP. The animals will be fixed in paraformaldehyde and stored in saline at 30% for conservation. Will be performed anatomical dissection of the muscles of these regions by identifying the origin and insertion of each muscle. The results will be photo documented.
