Abstract

The objective of this project is to have access to specific material and original sources (books not available for purchase from Brazil, manuscripts, recordings), as well as research groups that together with specialized orientation in this subject can guide this work to a level that could not be possible in Brazil, since there is a lack of specific bibliography and original sources.The topics to be developed during this research internship were chosen after my visit to Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and to the Magdeburg Telemann Zentrum in Sept/2013, when I could talk to Dr. Hirschmann and Dr. Lange, who count among the most renowned researchers on Telemann. In this occasion I had the opportunity to visit the libraries of these important centers and received specific bibliography indications to develop this research. Thus, during this internship, the main focus will be in the topics regarding the relationship between the French taste and Telemann (part I) and his quartets (part III), based on an extensive bibliography available in the libraries and archives of Halle University and Magdeburg Telemann Zentrum - but nonexistent in Brazil. Finally, on this trip, the contact with other young and senior researchers will be crucial, and as a result, academic exchanges will be intensified with this important center in the area of eighteenth century musicology, which could grow substantially in Brazil and which, through my work in Halle University, connections and papers published, enforce an international dissemination of our research with the international Telemann community.
