Abstract

We propose the study of the contemporary Portuguese fiction by periodicals in the Colóquio/Letras journal, Review section (1971/n. 01 - 2013/n. 183). Particulary, the Literature Brazilian university student hardly has the opportunity of studying the Contemporary Portuguese Literature from the 1970's to the present time during the graduation course. By the Critical Review section of a literary periodical of great prestige and credibility Colóquio/Letras it is possible for the students of Portuguese Literature to keep up with the new authors and Portuguese literary texts. The project The contemporary Portuguese fiction in the Colóquio/Letras jornal review section (1971/n. 01 - 2013/n. 183) intends to give a panorama of authors and literary compositions fiction published in the period mentioned through the academic report, allowing the student to get in touch with them and with publications in contemporary Portuguese fiction, motivating them to read these works and be interested in any author/book/critical chain in particular. The research will result in a paper on which will be found the following items: a) comments on the Portuguese Literature of the second part of the 20th century that will be written in a historical perspective; b) social-historical contextualization about Colóquio/Letras journal; c) comments on review academic gender; d) supplements: catalographic cards with information about: literary compositions review; authors' names; literary compositions; places and others mentioned in the review text; life and literary production of reviewed author; brief comments on the principal points of the review; key words; information about the reviewer; sections of the periodical; complete texts of the reviews; periodical summaries; many sorts of tables. With the conclusion/results of the research, we intend to contribute to: contemporary Portuguese Literature studies (2nd part of the 20th century); Portuguese periodical History; enhancement of student's critical sensibility; considerations about the academic review gender; writing and reading skills improvement; eventual pedagogical textbook for Portuguese Literature students and teachers; possible continuation of post-graduation studies.
