Abstract

Estimated at 10% of the population, only two decades ago homosexuality has been no longer considered psychopathological entity, a category of mental disorder. With 60 thousand homosexual couples self-appointed in latest census of IBGE, 2010, it is necessary studies and research on how these people live, what they think, feel, desire, as well as extend this understanding to same-sex marital bond, to find out how the dynamics of this couple, which defense mechanisms used against prejudice, what's the connection with families of origin, how marital bonds are formed, also aspects regarding psychosocial, gender identity and sexual orientation. This research has as participants 10 same-sex couples (female and male), with more than twenty years of life together, in order to meet the specificities of this format, whose legal legitimacy comes reaching positive results in recent years. Data collection will take place through semi-directed interviews conducted with the couple, plus the application of projective test TAT (Thematic Apperception Test), individually, under the clinical-qualitative method, in which the observation and interpretation of the researcher is elaborated on the phenomena, and not on the facts. The theoretical background is psychoanalytic, while searching for the meaning of human live, notably of René Kaës. The purpose is to bring forth a life that lurks in the shadow of the social cover and thus contribute to the production of knowledge in the field of couple and family psychoanalysis and psychosocial studies.
