Abstract

Over the last years, the complexity and variety of services available on the Internet increased. This fact is leading to the search for efficient techniques of routing client requests to the best server available. A known technique is the application layer anycast (ALA). We proposed the GALA (Global Application Layer Anycast) system in previous work. It is a system whose goal is to offer efficient ways to provide ALA with quality of service in the context of cloud computing. But, GALA was only evaluated through simulations. The main goal of this research proposal is to build a real environment for GALA implementation and execution. At the end of this scholarship, we expect to obtain a validation of the results obtained in our previous work. (AU)
