Abstract

Remineralizers area new soil amendment class created by Federal Law in Dec. 2013. They are constituted by grind and sieved rock without any chemical processing. Remineralizers should improve chemical, physical or biological soil properties. Knowledge base of the effect and behavior of remineralizers in tropical soils are poorly understood. The literature available usually do not provide detailed remineralizer characterization. The remineralizer used in this project was fully characterized in a previous project. Therefore, the elements and rates of mineral dissolution are not well known. Such information are essential to allow future recommendation of doses of remineralizers. This project aims the study of mineralogical and chemical changes in soil properties as well as evaluate its performance in a corn crop. The experiment will be done in a farm in Pirassununga-SP county, with four treatments (control, second year residual effect of 4 t ha-1,re-application of 15 t ha-1, and KCL as a k source). and 6 replications.
