Abstract In the midst of the classes in the Faculdade de Direito do Largo São Franciso and during the romantic bohemian circle from São Paulo, young authors carried in their hands the news from Europe, mainly France. Before being an authors which our Romanticism was based, they were regular readers of frech, english and other literature. But the problematizated question in this research is: whats is and how they had this literature access? This project purpose survey and analysis data at the library collection in Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de São Paulo and Biblioteca Mário de Andrade to confirm what the french books titles, or translations, where avaible to Romanticism students. Together with studies the library and reading gabinet from eighteenth century São Paulo's, this study research collaborate with surveys about the readers, reading places and the relationship between circulation and reception of books among France and Brazil in 19th century, developed within the Thematic Project "The Transatlantic circulation of the press - the globalization of culture in the nineteenth century". | |
