Abstract

The chemical composition and nutritive value of by-products are important to increase the production system efficiency and food production moreover these could mitigate the environmental impacts. The concept of matching livestock production with available feed resources has intensified research into more use of crop residues and agro-industrial by-products in most countries. Ruminants have the unique capacity to utilize fiber because of their rumen physiological adaptation and ruminal microbiology. Then by-products could be used in ruminant diets to increase animal products (milk and meat). The United State ethanol industry have been increasing recent years, thus producing a significant amount of by-products. These are important in the food and fiber system, yet little research has been characterized individually. Therefore, the aim of the internship is to learn different methodologies and collection data from growing/finishing studies used to evaluate the different components in by-products agroindustry. (AU)
