Abstract

The present project "IMMUNOGENETICS AND ENVIROMENTAL FACTORS IN A BRAZILIAN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY OF PEMPHIGUS VULGARIS AND PEMPHIGUS FOLIACEUS" was delineated following the observation that both clinical forms of pemphigus (pemphigus vulgaris - PV, and pemphigus foliaceus - PF) are endemic in the northeastern region of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The main objective of this epidemiological study is to associate immune genetic and environmental factors to the etiology and pathogenesis of PV and PF.
