Effect of injection of calciferol on bone development of broilers

Abstract

The experiment will be conducted at the Department of Animal Morphology and Physiology, in the poultry sector UNESP / Jaboticabal to assess bone and anatomical development of broilers from incubated with injections of calciferol (vitamin D) eggs. The objective will be to develop management strategies to minimize the effects of bone development problems affecting birds during the design phase. Incubation will be injected in different levels of vitamin D in fertile eggs, in order to define the dose that promotes better bone embryonic development, with five treatments (treatments with or without injection of vitamin D), with seven replicates of 40 fertile / treatment eggs. The following characteristics will be analyzed: hatchability, hatching, embryo mortality, relative body weight, weight loss profile of minerals from the bones (femur and tibiotarsus) and bone densitometry. Data will be analyzed using SAS ® program.
