Abstract

This research, included in the scope of the problem of alterity, focuses on the rituals and practices of faithful participants at vigils and meetings sponsored by Pentecostal churches in Duque de Caxias and other peripheral regions of Rio de Janeiro/Brazil. It aims to analyze the efforts affirmation of an identity and distinct from the establishment of comparisons which are highlighted some diacritical marks that differentiate the Pentecostals of other religious groups, especially african-Brazilian cults.
