Abstract

Several technologies are being applied to bovine reproduction, such as embryo transfer, artificial insemination and cloning, this is due to the great loss of cattle embryos by abnormalities in the development and / or aberrations in placentation. In cattle most organs is formed between the 2nd and 6th week of gestation, including this digestive tract, lungs, liver and pancreas that develop from the primitive gut. The embryonic endodermal layer originates the digestive and respiratory tract epithelium as well as the organs: thyroid, lungs, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. The liver is the largest isolated gland in the body, accounting for 2-5% of body weight of the animal, which has several metabolic functions performed by two cell types, hepatocytes and Kupffer cells. Diseases involving organs endoderm clemente derivatives, particularly the lungs, liver and pancreas, including cystic fibrosis, chronic hepatitis and diabetes respectively, affecting thousands of people worldwide. A way of treatment for these patients is to stimulate tissue regeneration achieved in vivo or in vitro to generate replacement tissue. This project aims to evaluate morphologically the embryonic development of the liver of cattle embryos and mark the existing stem cells in this organ through the OCT4 antibody, targeting future isolation and culture "in vitro" and these cells for use in cell therapy. These strains also promotes possible treatments for liver diseases, are also important in research "in vitro" and the development of new drugs, since the liver is the main organ of detoxification of the body.
