Abstract

Professional musicians rely especially good hearing conditions. Thus, changes in the organ of Corti, hyperacusis, or tinnitus, can prevent or hinder the full use of auditory skills, damaging not only the work but also the quality of the social life of these individuals. Objective: To investigate the risk of hearing musicians battery university, and perform the measurement of sound pressure levels to which they are exposed. Material and methods: the research will be attended by 25 members of university Battery, of both sexes, aged 19-26 years. The musicians will undergo tests audiometry, otoacoustic emissions and distortion product, impedance, audiological history and listening habits questionnaire. In order to characterize the noisy environment they are exposed, will measure the sound pressure level during showings of the Battery University.
