Abstract

The high prevalence and incidence of congenital and acquired urinary bladder pathologies, such as myelomeningocele, bladder sphincter dyssynergia and urinary tuberculosis, which may cause loss of both compliance and detrusor contraction, added to the lack of a fully effective and complication-free treatment indicates the need to develop a more suitable therapeutic technique. By comparing the implant of urinary bladder heterologous cellular matrix (scaffold) seeded with autologous adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) in the bladder of rabbits to the same scaffold implant without the seeding of ADSC in other rabbits, this study has as its objective the evaluation of histological and morphological changes induced by the scaffold as a response to tissue demands, as well as, through the functional analysis (urodynamical tests), to add new information to Dr. Wagner Aparecido França's research.
