Abstract

The work is part of the COLMEIA Project (Complex ridge-transform evolution and mantle exhumation). This works involves the analysis of magnetic data from sea floor gathered on January-February of 2013 at the St. Peter and St. Paul fracture zone and archipelago. Data processing and initial analysis was done at during 2013 by a CNPq scholarship. A more complete analysis and preliminary model for the data was held at Université de Bretagne Occidentale, France, during the first semester of 2014, with a scholarship for academic merit form USP. The first results were present at IAG IC Simposio. During the stay in France some theoretical model were created. These models have the magnetic signal calculated for bathymetry, geological features and that could correspond to observations' places. Model results were compared with observations and the resulting differences are now the study object. The models must be modified to contemplate more accurate geological information and other geophysical/geological information, so the differences between models and data could be minimized.
