Abstract

This project has by its objective the participation of an undergraduate student in his mentor's research which intends to discuss the construction of the performance of Beethoven's sonata Op.111. This Research is planned to be fulfilled between 2014 and 2015. The steps destined to the student are: the research of bibliographical fonts existent about this work and specifically about its performance, analyses of the musical material with traditional analytic tools, comparison between selected editions, and interviews with the mentor in which shall be discussed the process of learning the piece and the conclusions in which he has arrived. It is also necessary to highlight the importance of bringing together the artistic production and the traditional research, aggregating to this project an undergraduate student, contributing to advancement of research in this field. Such approach will produce an unprecedented bibliographical material in the Portuguese language, contributing to a wider comprehension of the Sonata Op. 111 through the reflections about its intrinsic process in the construction of the interpretation.
