Abstract

In this project we intent to develop a flow analysis procedure using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (ST-DLLME) as a pre-concentration strategy for the determination of lead in plants and water. The procedure will be implemented employing a Multi-syringe Flow Injection Analysis (MSFIA) setup for fluids handling. In this ST-DLLME methodology, a mixture of solvents is added to the aqueous sample forming an emulsion, once separated the emulsion in two phases, the organic phase is taken to perform the measurement with an appropriate detector. This extraction methodology does not requires a centrifugation step for phase separation, thus contributing for both reduction of organic solvent consumption and to speed up the sample analysis, which can be considered as an appreciable advantage.
