Abstract With the constant growth of the Worldwide Web, databases about a wide range of topics have become available. With those databases it is possible to analyze the structure and evolution of information networks, like encyclopedias (e.g. Wikipedia) and the social networks (e.g. Facebook and Twitter). In this project, our goal is characterize the structure of the knowledge in encyclopedia networks and the propagation of information on social networks. We will build networks from literature authors and verify if authors from a same style are relaed and present similar patterns of connections. We will also analyse this network considering multiple layers, looking to get a more realistic model than the network based on only one layer, how it is currently done. Another goal is to quantify the robustness and navegation in encyclopedia networks. In this case, our goal is to develop methods to identify the most important propagators and quantify how the information spreads in networks obtained from different bases. | |
