Abstract

Visually impaired people have an absence or diminution of visual perception. Difficulties in the process of caring for a child with visual impairment may arise due to their extreme dependency, requiring a network of support for this family so that they can gain confidence and skills to facilitate the care and education for this child. Thus, the research aims to grasp the experience of families of children with visual impairment. Research descriptive, qualitative, to be held in São Carlos -SP with family of blind children who attend educational institutions. Data collection will occur in the second half of 2014 and first half of 2015 with a semi-structured interviews. The data will be recorded and analyzed according to the Schutze precepts, will be used as theoretical interactionism symbolic. The project will be submitted to the Ethics and Research Committee in Humans of the Federal University of São Carlos. (AU)
