Evaluation of hematological and biochemical profile of horses undergoing exercise of short duration and high intensity

Abstract

The present study aims to describe and evaluate of haematological and laboratory (creatine kinase, lactate, lactate dehydrogenase, blood gas and electrolyte evaluation) of horses undergoing exercise of short duration and high intensity. 32 animals will be used. These animals will be divided into the following groups: barrel regular training (GTTR), sporadic barrel training (GTTE), team roping regular training (GLTR) and team roping sporadic training (GLTE). All data will be recorded in a separate record. Blood samples of 5 mL are collected with an anticoagulant for blood test and 10 ml without anticoagulant for serum biochemical analyzes. Blood collection and evaluation of horses will be held 30 minutes before (T0), immediately after (M1) and after 30 minutes (M2) , one (M3), two (M4), six (M5) and 24 hours (M6) competition.
