Abstract

This project aims to explore the actors, intensity, ways and means that UNIFESP interacts with the productive sector through the construction of a case study on the interaction between a researcher at the Campus of São José dos Campos of the University and company Vale do Rio Doce. The cooperation between the two institutions has been identified by previous project to this, that sought to better understand how the University-Enterprise (EU) cooperation occurs at UNIFESP. Therefore, this project aims to continue the research developed in previous work that intends to deepen and to extend the knowledge about how technology transfer occurs in the context of UNIFESP. The University-Enterprise interaction is a fundamental strategy to promote socio-economic development of Nations. Yes, when the universities develop technology and transfers for businesses, they can acquire the knowledge necessary to constitute its competitive advantage and remain on the market. In turn, this technology can be converted into goods and services for society. In addition, a portion of the profit obtained through this partnership can be invested the infrastructure of the University. If all actors involved to collaborate, all are benefited. Aiming to achieve the proposed objective, a qualitative research based on the application of a semi-structured interview guide with the people involved in the partnership between UNIFESP and Vale do Rio Doce will be held. To validate the information and inferences to be obtained and developed during this research will be done the triangulation of data sources that will be used, as a theory, interviews and the process of interaction between institutions. It is expected that the project will generate significant results for the scientific breakthrough because it is subject to few studies in developing countries (PÓVOA; Rapini, 2010), especially in Brazil (CLOSS; FERREIRA; PERIN and Sampaio, 2012) and relevant to Brazilian society today.
