Abstract

This research aims at the numerical solution of an inverse problem of identifying the flexural rigidity of an Euler-Bernoulli beam. The proof the uniqueness in the recovery of the flexural rigidity by observing the displacement of a point for an arbitrarily small interval of time has already been obtained previously, and now we aim at the numerical recovery of it. By means of a reinterpretation of the mathematical model, we aim at the identification of the presence of defects or disturbances in the flexural rigidity of the beam.
