Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the migration of monocytes stimulated by monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1 / CCL-2) in resistant hypertensive and controlled hypertensive subjects. The migration of monocytes will be determined by in vitro chemotaxis technique and plasma levels of MCP-1/CCL2 by immunoassay. Arterial stiffness will be determined by measuring the pulse wave velocity (PWV) and cardiac hypertrophy by echocardiography. Anthropometric parameters, laboratory tests, office and ambulatory BP measurements will also be evaluated. Will participate total of 20 patients subdivided into resistant and hypertensive controlled with proven adherence to pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment follow at Outpatient Clinic of Resistant Hypertension at HC/UNICAMP. The results of this study will provide a better understanding of cell migration on cardiovascular remodeling in resistant hypertensive patients.
