Abstract

Volume Rendering consists of a set of techniques for investigate volume datasets. These techniques provide tools distinct areas from science and industry. The great challenge in Volumetric Visualization is to generate high quality images, while enabling user interactivity. To overcome these challenges, new volume rendering techniques have been proposed in the literature, and the use of hardware. This work aims to use GPU and CUDA platform to parallelize a Rendering Volumetric Hybrid approach presented in the literature. Thus, it will be evaluated performance improvement when compared with the results from Ray Casting technique. In addition to the comparison of time, the quality of generated images will also be compared.
