Abstract

In an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), it is founded many situations that attack a hospitalized patient and, through the eyes of a professional that received good training, we can note that the patient is susceptible to a wide rage of complications because of his/her clinical state, in addition to the hospitalization time, that it's an important factor for the onset of complications. The long period of immobility that the patient is submitted and his/her original clinical state lead to negative repercussion and, it is believed that an early gain of mobility or maintenance activities is an important factor that impacts the hospitalization time and the patient prognosis. The objective of this study is to evaluate and measure, subjectively, and objectively the physical activity level of hospitalized patients in the ICU. Secondary objectives are to evaluate the accuracy and feasibility of instruments used for the primary objective of this study.
