Abstract

Behavioral syndromes are correlations between the behavior of the individuals in different contexts or different times of their life. The behavioral syndromes have been shown in vertebrates and invertebrates. The goal of this study is to investigate the presence of behavioral syndromes in Charinus asturius (Amblypygi), a group relatively poorly studied in respect to its general aspects and still not studied regarding the behavioral syndromes. This work consist of three steps. In the first step we will investigate the natural history of C. asturius in the field, in order to know the behavior of the species and the selective pressures to which C. asturius is subjected. In the second step we will test whether there is a correlation between aggressiveness and activity in C. asturius. In the third step we will test whether there is a learning syndrome in C. asturius.
