Abstract

Since the ending of 70s and particularly after the early 80s the center of the global economy has undergone extensive changes, which would affect in a great or small form the other economies. This process has been termed by many researchers as globalization. From this context, we aim to make a bibliographical study, making a systematic analysis in the late phase of the thought of Celso Furtado. We will focus the main works that discuss globalization in the work of Celso Furtado in the period 1978-2004, willing to discuss how he sees the impact of this process in peripheral economies, especially in Brazil.
