Abstract

Spinoza's claim that mind and body, as modes of the substance s attributes, gather in the unity of singular human mode just like these same attributes gather in the substantial unity (Espinosa, 2007. p.86) received several explanations by the authors who have endeavored to make it understandable and overcome the difficulties pointed out by readers since its formulation. In this context, the studies carried out by Chantal Jaquet stand out in Spinozas commentators tradition because it criticizes old interpretations and proposes another approach to the terms defined by this philosopher. While authors such as Deleuze and Gueroult develop explanations about the attributes and its modes deeply committed to the notions of parallelism and correspondence, Jaquet shows how the experience in act with body and mind, as Spinoza describes, intertwines thoughts and bodily affections in such a way that the parallelistic correspondence is not sufficient to clarify how difference and identity and are articulated. In this context, we believe that studying the way Jaquet rescues this experience as well as other authors do too, has much to contribute to the deepening of our research. Since this is an approach that will not be limited only to Jaquet texts, but will also follow her indication to examin the mixed speech where Spinoza handles at the same time the body and mind, the emotional life and the production of knowledge, an internship in Europe will be enriching not only to allow us a study next to this author, following their classes and meetings of the Groupe de recherches spinozistes, but also because of the vast bibliography of commentators that we will have in libraries in France and other European countries.
