Abstract

This research will focus as a conceptual relations between the subjects of composition and construction techniques in the work of architect Le Corbusier, and as a case study your project to the Embassy of France (1964-1965), in Brasilia, seeking to identify their strategies projective and analyze the relationship between compositional results and the chosen constructive ways and employees. To perform this study and critical index case research will also address more fully the professional relations established by Swiss-french architect with Brazil, from the 1920s to the custom design of an embassy to the new Brazilian capital, including the reasons why the non-construction of the building, considering carefully the relationship between the design of Le Corbusier and the set of his works. The research will also address the project developed by the "heir" of Le Corbusier's office, the Chilean architect Guillermo Jullian de la Fuente, in fact a new embassy, with the analysis of the building actually built between the years 1972-1974 by La Fuente; comparing it to the project proposed by Le Corbusier and the one prepared by La Fuente. The study will start from the foundation established in previous works, especially the 8 volumes of L'Ouvre Complète, written and published by Le Corbusier; the book Le Corbusier y South America: viajes y proyectos, Oyarzun of authorship; Le Corbusier and Brazil, the authors SANTOS; PEREIRA; PEREIRA & SILVA; among others authored by Le Corbsuier own and other authors who researched his life and work. The study will also include the research of primary sources available in the collection of the Fondation Le Corbusier in Paris, France, in the archives of current French Embassy, built by La Fuente, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both in Brasilia, which will allow to base and complementary interpretations and analyzes proposed.
