Abstract William Kentridge is a South-African artist that comes gaining notoriety for their works, which includes pictures, animations, sculptures and installations. His work is usually addressed by social-politics themes from his country. However, after a brief analysis, it is possible to see that there is a great interest of this artist on the development of theme time, causing its materialization on their works. This observation can be explained by analysis of space-time concepts introduced in art by cubists in the early twentieth century. The general objective of the present research is the analysis of William Kentridge's work with emphasis on his production of animation and installations. More specifically, this research pretends to analysis three works of Kentridge chosen from the aforementioned techniques with a great emphasis on space-time concepts in order to purpose more understanding the role of theme time in the artist's work. This research, along orientation with responsible advisor, will provide to the scholarship a detailed study of the space-time concepts in art critics, as well as on the history and evolution of techniques, enabling him to analysis art works. | |
