Abstract

This undergraduate Project intend to study and implement computationally a single machine-infinite bus model (SMIBM) considering a SVC device acting. The resulting model will be a modification of the original Sensitivity Current Model (with no compensation) considering the influence of the SVC on the power system. The objective is attained writing the equations (generally nonlinear) that rule the SMIBM system with the SVC in operation. The equations will be linearized around an equilibrium point, resulting in a linear model. When the model is deduced, the representation in time domain is realized by differential and algebraic equations. Using the Laplace transform the SMIBM with SVC is represented in frequency domain. The representation of the SMIBM considering the acting of the SVC is implemented computationally using the MATLAB software. The reason to choose this software is due to its characteristics in programming and interface facilities. Once realized and implemented the model, it will be used in analyzing stability to small perturbations in an electric power system (synchronous machine to infinite bus). This project is planned to one year.
