Abstract

Wishing to continue and deepen the studies that we have been doing since the master in order to understand some of the current bioscientifcs invested in the construction of narratives and explanations to questions traditionally constituted objects of humanities. This project assumes the task of dialogue with the tradition of studies that have strengthened in recent decades within the Life Sciences. Generally, this trend of contemporary thought interprets and analyzes the human and his behavior as a result of evolution and adaptation of the species in neodarwinism milestones. Thus, the intention is to map the current stage of the discussions of this tradition and understand what is really new in its historical and social meanings. For this, this research will focus particular attention to the answers that bioscientists as Richard Dawkins, Edward Wilson, Steven Pinker, Antonio Damasio and Jared Diamond are giving to the ontological question "What is man?". The hypothesis to guide this research is that the so-called "postmodern condition" both in theoretical and cultural terms as political and economic was one of the possible reason, during the decades of 70 and 80, by propagation this Bioscience Ontology.
