Abstract

This research project aims to evaluate the environmental licensing process in the solid waste sector, using as a case study the Waste Treatment Center and Environmental Improvement in Caieiras, São Paulo. It is a central receiving municipal and industrial waste, which are treated and deposited in the landfill. This study consisted of an analysis of environmental impacts provided in the Environmental Impact Assessment and the current situation of the enterprise, as well as an analysis of the mitigation measures in relation to it is compliance and effectiveness. Stages of environmental licensing for this type of development have been identified in order to establish the criteria of this license linked to the solid waste sector.
