Abstract

The discourse on childhood and the way it has been perceived and theorized over the years determine the types of actions toward the needs of children and adolescents as the role and function of the family group are reinterpreted by such changes. In this process of social and subjective definitions and redefinitions, children and adolescents who have their rights violated by their family of origin, and therefore need to be taken from that living for their own protection, become the target of public policies and their protective actions. The institutional care, widely used, is very questionable regarding to its effectiveness in ensuring the rights of children and adolescents, especially regarding to family and community life. This is how, through the NPSA (National Plan for Social Assistance, 2004) is established a new type of foster care, the family based one, which as amended by Law No. 12,010, 2009 with the changes made by ECA, it becomes priority against the institutional care. In this family based foster care, the foster families are selected and trained by the technical teams of the program, and thus receive and welcome into their homes children / teenagers. The aim of this research is to map the possible affections in this foster context in two towns of interior of São Paulo, in dialogue with the concepts of performativity and intersectionality of social markers of difference, using as the cartography method.
