Abstract Assuming that during the democratization process is the re-articulation of the visual arts field and repositioning / insertion of artists and intellectuals in the state apparatus, this project aims to study the role, contributions and institutional performances of artists and intellectual of the visual arts field during the process of Brazilian democracy. It will also be investigated to what extent these performances printed democratic values and institutions the official cultural policy, sought to consolidate a new institutional profile and a discursive, theoretical and practical field facing contemporary Brazilian art. Through bibliographical and documentary research in archives and files related to the subjects studied, the proposal also aims to reflect on possible historical reasons for the institutional presence of these agents in state frameworks and the implications of this relationship in the visual arts. As an extension of these goals, yet propose a new interpretive perspective to the relationship of artists and intellectuals of the visual arts field with the authoritarian regime during the process of democratization and the impact of these agents in the formulation and implementation of cultural policies in this period. | |
