Abstract

The cerrado is a representative vegetation in Brazil, occupying about 22% of the Brazilian territory and has approximately 5% of the planet's biodiversity, with high rates of endemism. It also has economic and social importance for many traditional communities. However, human action destroyed very areas where the cerrado was present, especially in São Paulo. However, fragments present in the State still have great diversity. Among the cerrado fragments protected in the State of São Paulo, the Ecological Station of Jataí, in the municipality of Luis Antonio, is considered the biggest area of preservation of the cerrado area. The family Malpighiaceae A. Juss. is among the most representative of the cerrado and appears to have important roles in this vegetation, with strong interaction with species of bees and ants. This study proposes a floristic survey of Malpighiaceae family in areas of Jataí Ecological Station. Thus, it is expected to recognize the diversity and family representation in this protected area, contributing to conservation policies for cerrado areas in São Paulo and in the country. (AU)
