Abstract

Chauliognathini sensu Miskimen is a tribe of Chauliognathinae composed by long-elytra species, while the other tribe, Ichthyurini, is composed by short-elytra species. There are around 550 species in Chauliognathini distributed in 5 genera weakly supported or even without any morphological support. This research project was planned on the doctorate project and this stage is essential for its conclusion. It aims a morphological study of the types of some species of Chauliognathini as well as some additional species identified by experts to get the data to conduct a phylogeny for the tribe. Also, the types of species of Microdaiphron will be studied in order to conduct a taxonomic revision of the genus. (AU)
