Abstract

The present research performs an analysis of the migration processes from the Campinas Metropolitan Area (RMC). The analysis consists of 3 fronts: flow analysis, from witch region people come from, and witch region they head; volume, immigrants amount who arrives or arrived at the RMC; and direction, in which place people settle in the region, even on the center - the city of Campinas -, peripheral cities or a city that constitutes another core from the RMC under the perspective of the educational an socio-occupational characteristics. These analyses will always be related to the industrial deconcentration from the São Paulo Metropolitan Area, to the endogenous development from the Campinas Metropolitan Area, and the insertion of both areas at the Paulista Macrometropolis. As a background we have the development and constitution of the cities and the spaces from metropolitan areas. The analysis will take place in the period from 1991 to 2010 through IBGE Demographic Census data. (AU)
