Abstract

The Internship of Research abroad, from March to June 2016, in the University of Chicago aims to draw up a study on the concept of "race" in American historiography of the post-abolition and the labor movement, approaching both fields and designing a comparative perspective with the Brazilian historiography. The intention of this conceptual reflection is to situate the analysis that I develop in my thesis in a transnational perspective. The reflections of this project are linked to the thematic project Entre a escravidão e o fardo da liberdade: os trabalhadores e as formas de exploração do trabalho em perspectiva histórica, which is being run by the CECULT - UNICAMP with financial support from FAPESP.
