Abstract

This research will focus as a conceptual relations between the subjects of composition and construction techniques in the work of architect Le Corbusier, and as a case study your project to the French Embassy (1964-1965, in Brasilia, seeking to identify their projectual strategies and analyze the relationships between the compositional results and the chosen constructive ways and employees. To carry out this study critically and referenced if the research will also address more fully the professional relationships established by Swiss-French architect with Brazil, from the 1920s to the order of the design of an embassy for the new Brazilian capital, including, the reasons not to build the building, carefully considering the relationship between the design of Le Corbusier and the set of his works. The study will depart from established based on previous work, especially the 8 volumes of L'Ouvre Complète, written and published by Le Corbusier; the book Le Corbusier y South America: viajes y proyectos of Oyarzun authoring; Le Corbusier and Brazil, the authors SANTOS; PEREIRA; PEREIRA & SILVA; among others authored by Le Corbsuier own and other authors who have researched his life and work. The study will also include the research of primary sources available in the collection of the Fondation Le Corbusier in Paris, France, in the archives of current French Embassy, built by Chilean architect Guillermo Jullian de la Fuente, in Brasilia, and the Ministry of Foreign outside of France and Brazil, and other national and international collections, which will allow to base and supplement interpretations and analyzes proposals.
