Abstract

In this proposal, we intent to pursue the growth and characterization of CeIn3 nanowires using the metallic flux nanonucleation method. This novel method was developed by the GPOMS and LMBT groups at IFGW-UNICAMP (patent - INPI - BR 10 2014 019794 0).Using this technique, we aim to study the properties of the heavy fermion antiferromagnet CeIn3 (Tn - 10 K) as a function of the nanowires diameter ranging from 15 to 200 nm. From measurements of magnetic susceptibility, EDS, heat capacity, TEM, and XRD, we plan to explore how the RRKY interactions, CEF and Kondo effects present in CeIn3 evolve as a function of dimensionality.
