Abstract

Mobile telephony and access of the population to devices with multiple functions (smartphones) has greatly facilitated the timely and efficient transmission of images. Within medicine, remote diagnostics has been used in areas such as dermatology and radiology allowing integration between specialized centers and remote areas, with successful experiences in various parts of the world [1, 2].The use of images transmission technology allows better interaction of the general practitioner to the specialist improving the quality of care of people without access to large medical centers. The external location of eyelid tumors, in the same way as skin complaints, makes it possible to record the imaging injury. Issue is not discussed, eyelid tumors may prove difficult to diagnose clinically, it is not uncommon to find malignant lesions neglected for years. Early detection is important to enable proper treatment decreasing morbidity, deformity and loss of visual function. In this context, we note that there are no studies on eye care about the reliability of the interaction between the face examination and diagnosis at a distance of eyelid tumors conducted appropriately, we believe the smartphone, instrument commonly used in day to day any doctor, can help the diagnosis of eyelid tumors, identifying malignant cases and facilitating patient access to appropriate treatment.
