Abstract

The description of a new species of the genus Hyphessobrycon from the rio Xingu basin will be done. This new species, identified by the project coordinator some years ago at the MPEG fish collection, will be undertaken with material from the latter collection and also from already identified material at the MNRJ collection. The proposed project will allow an adequate initial training in taxonomy and related disciplines to the student that will undertake it. (AU)
