Abstract

Manipulation of dentin bonding systems can interfere on the adhesive quality overtime. The aim of this study is to simulate routine conditions on clinical practice on the properties considered on bonding. The null hypothesis to be tested are: 1- there is no difference of degree of conversion (DC) and superficial microhardness (SM) between two no-simplified dentin bonding systems; 2- There is no difference of DC and SM regarding manipulation forms. Two no simplified denting bonding systems, Scotchbond multipurpose (MP) and Clearfil SE Bond (SE) will be tested. A solvated group will also be tested as a comparative group(Single Bond Universal. Simulations will involve four conditions: At room (C), Removed from refrigerator (R), aged in clinical routine during 2 weeks (CA) and aged in laboratory (LA). Degree of conversion will be assessed with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and by superficial microhardness (Knoop 25g/10s) for all these conditions. Data will be collected and statistically analyzed.
