Abstract

Desenvolver um conjunto de ferramentas para ingestão de dados no ambiente SciDB, que permitam a ingestão de grandes quantidades de imagens de observação da Terra. Atualmente, os centros de dados de sensoriamento remoto no Brasil e no Exterior (como INPE, NASA e ESA) distribuem as imagens de forma individual. Assim, cientistas e outros interessados em fazer análises em grandes volumes de dados precisam fazer downloads de imagens uma por uma. O resultado é que o cientista tem de gerenciar uma grande quantidade de arquivos individuais. Um dos objetivos do projeto e-sensing é reduzir esse esforço por parte de cientistas e instituições de P&D. Nossa proposta é que os cientistas utilizem array databases para gerenciar grandes volumes de dados. (AU)
