Abstract

The present study aims to quantify the expression of bone morphogenetic protein II (BMP II) produced by osteoblastic human cells when cultured on dense or porous samples of pure titanium grade II. Real-Time Quantitative Reverse Transcription PCR will be use and relative quantification will be obtained after comparisons with the constitutive gene. Previously, RNA analysis by electrophoresis will guarantee its integrity. expression of BMP II,. The cells will be derived from human bone fragments that after isolated by an enzymatic process, will be plated in 24-well culture plate containing samples. The experimental groups are a control dense titanium, higher-porosity titanium, and low-porosity titanium. These samples will be prepared by powder metallurgy technique, in partnership with the Materials Division of the Aerospace Technology Centre of São José dos Campos.
