Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the Martens hardness, elastic modulus and color stability of light-cured resin cements polymerized with two types of LED light-curing units, before and after artificial accelerated aging. Two resin cements will be used: RelyX Veneer, translucent color (3M ESPE) and Variolink II, transparent color (Ivoclar Vivadent). A total of 80 specimens will be made with dimensions of 5 mm in diameter and thickness of 1.5 mm each. Half of the disks will be photopolymerized by a single-wave LED (Radii, SDI) and the other half with a poly-wave LED (Valo Ultradent). After preparation, the samples will be stored at 37°C and 100% moisture for 24 hours to ensure complete polymerization. Initial assessments of Martens hardness, elastic modulus and color will be made. The specimens will be exposed to the artificial accelerated aging. Next, final measurements of Martens hardness, elasticity modulus and color stability will be made. The values of Martens hardness, elastic modulus and color stability will be submitted to statistical normality tests and specific tests to verify the significance between the mean (± = 0.05).
