Abstract

Brazilian Geography already has a significant production of dissertations and theses, fruit of Graduate Programs in geography and all economic heritage and the last decades policy. In this universe, a significant number of jobs is they returned to the understanding of history and of theoretical and conceptual issues of knowledge geographical. The geographic knowledge that is a synthesis of thought and knowledge Geographic is a research object that drew in the Brazilian academic geography one thematic research. This thematic research, expressed in dissertations and theses, he led our overall objective, to seek, read and analyze theses and dissertations in Graduate programs in geography of Brazil in theory studies, Method and History of Geographical Thought, seeking to reveal the most recurrent themes and absent until 2014, this goal was divided into goals Specific: 1) Identify the institutions and advisors with the greatest number of studies / guidelines; 2) Identify and analyze the changes of the terms (themes, objects, studied time period, etc.).
