Abstract

Researches show that binge eating disorder is frequent in obese adults, although there is no consensus among studies about the prevalence of binge eating disorder in this population. This study aims to accomplish a systematic review of the literature in order to know the prevalence of binge eating disorder estimates in different populations of obese adults and to identify the mean factors associated to this disorder. With the information will be obtained between the search literature on the databases as MEDLINE, SCOPUS and Web of Science based on criteria and keywords defined a priori. After the selected articles are considered eligible for the study, the methodological quality will be evaluated. With results of this study, we expect to contribute with to the discussions about the importance of binge eating disorder in the planning of therapeutic practices for the obese subjects.
