Abstract

A new family of high-temperature superconductors have attracted a lot of attention from the scientific community since their discovery in 2008: the iron-based superconductors (FeSCs). It is known that the superconductivity dome in the FeSCs is in the vicinity of both a magnetic and a nematic phase and that why several works available in the literature have investigated the role that the nematic and magnetic fluctuations separately have on the superconductivity phase. In this project Thaís Trevisan will deal with these two kinds of fluctuations at the same time. In particular, she will study how the interplay between magnetic and nematic fluctuations can promote the pairing of the electrons, leading to the superconductor phase in the FeSCs. These activities will be part of Trevisan's PhD Thesis. (AU)
